Pivovar Cvikov -Cvikov, North Bohemia, Czech Republic
"Our 8° glassblower is an almost extinct style of beer and one of the most remarkable ones. Historically, it has been drunk in the region for at least two centuries and that being in Glassworks during work - it inherently belonged to every pub confection in North Bohemia, the glassmaking region in which hand blowing of glass is performed up until today as one of the last places in Europe. During the creation of the recipe of our "eight", we put emphasis on its lightness combined with fantastic drinkability as is intended to primarily extinguish thirst. The beer is uniquely still quite complex though with decoction mashing (one mash) so it has nothing to do with low-cost light lagers that you commonly find on the market. Fun fact, did you know that glassblowers are the only occupation in the Czech Republic where you are legally allowed to drink beer whilst working?"
