Dampfbrau - Zwiesel, Germany
"The Silvator impresses with its reddish, dark appearance and a very firm, fine-pored and caramel-colored foam crown. The taste is strongly malty, with corners and edges, which are somewhat balanced with a pleasantly bitter hop note.
Monks were forbidden to eat during Lent. Therefore, during this time they brewed a particularly strong and therefore nutritious beer for themselves, the Starkbier.
True to this tradition, we brew our Silvator every year, especially during Lent, strictly according to purity with the best raw materials from Lower Bavaria and the Hallertau.
The name Silvator is derived from the Latin word for forest (lat.: silva). We want to express the origin of the beer from the Bavarian Forest."
